My Summer....
I can't believe how quickly the summer flew by. We're already back to school by a couple weeks! Though my summer was short, it was good. I had my art student and we worked on a beautiful lagoon painting. I spent time with my boys and their friends swimming and hanging out and enjoyed date nights with my husband...
I also spent time in my studio... I painted a mixed media sunflower for a very good friend of mine who has a special place in her heart for sunflowers. I worked on a painting for my niece, incorporating the beautiful photos she took on her trip to Paris. And I'm working on a series of paintings for a new restaurant in town.
The new restaurant is a very cool English pub called the Queen Vic. I'm working on appropriately themed pieces that I think will work in the pub. The Queen Vic also has a sister bar and tapas restaurant called Oporto, and I'll be working on more colorful abstract pieces to hang in there.
It feels good to get back into the studio and create.

Ahhh.... Finally have a minute to sit and think.. and a minute to update my blog. Its been quite awhile since I've had a chance to do this. I want to talk about Via Colori. It was held right before Thanksgiving, but seems like the other day. Its a 2 day event, Saturday and Sunday, where various sized squares are sponsored by people and companies, and artists from far and wide use chalk to create beautiful works... and the proceeds go to The Center for the Hearing Impaired in Houston. This is my 2nd year doing this and was so excited to get started, unfortunately, it rained pretty much all day Saturday, so no one could get out there and create. It lightened up towards the evening, and I made my way down there to get started on my square. It was wet, and it was cold, and it was dark, but I was having the best time. The next day we got there bright and early, and there were several artists who could not make it, so the wonderful people in charge gave me another square to paint...you know I loved that! I am posting pics of my work, let me know what you think.
